0 it is the liveliest small town in region with nightlife that will surprise you for a town of its size. One of the top spots for mingling with the locals is bang in the town centre around Earl Street which houses plenty of bars some of which have large beer gardens so during the summer it's a great place to chill out with a few beers before going hardcore after the sun goes down.


The River Medway runs through the centre of the town, linking it with Rochester and the Thames Estuary. Historically, the river carried much of the town's trade as the centre of the agricultural county of Kent, known as the Garden of England.


The town is ranked in the top 5 shopping centres in the South East of England so you can be rest assured that there are plenty of shops to take advantage of.

Maidstone is the home of some wonderful museums like Maidstone Museum & Art Gallery, Kent Life & Tyrwhitt-Drake Museum of Carriages, all of which are worth a visit but as you're on a stag party maybe just settle for one! The Maidstone Crater on Mars is named after this town due to the NASA naming program. Famous For There's a fair amount of talent coming out of Maidstone. People such as Dawn French, Sharon Davis, & Fern Britton all hail from the town. 


Maidstone is a twinned town with Beauvais in Picardy, France and organises annual trips to the Jeanne Hachette Festival in Beauvais. An annual sporting event is also held with both towns taking it in turn to host the event. 


The town also has a big music scene and has hosted some of the biggest artists in the world such as Adele back in 2008 when she was given her first main stage debut at Radio Ones Big Weekend in Mote Park. In the summer, Maidstone has its very own Fringe Festival which sees a variety of music ranging from indie, to dance music at many of the towns venues.

Airports – Heathrow Airport is about 66 miles from Maidstone. Gatwick Airport is about 41 miles from Maidstone. Stansted Airport is about 60 miles from Maidstone. London itself is about 40 miles from Maidstone, so it's very easy to get to the city if you are staying in the town.


Railways – Maidstone is no more than 30 minutes by train from Victoria or St Pancras stations in central London. 


Roads - Maidstone is just outside the M25 from London so it's easily accessible and is only around an hour or 2 drive to the capital.
