e. Plus, it's the home of Led Zeppelin. There's an epic selection of curry houses, and to be fair, what better food is there for a night out. With a population of over 2 million, your night outs will be a hive of activity, with some of the finest hotspots in the Midland.

Overview:

The jewel of the Midlands ' Birmingham is a city ready to embrace the future. Since the 1990s there has been a lot of radical change in the city. New structures have sprung up over the city given it a very modern feel. The city is filled with things to do and you will be spoiled for choice.

This City is famous for producing steel back in the day. It also plays host to a number of locks on different canals throughout the city. They include the Guillotine Lock in Kings Norton which was used to control the flow of water between canals owned by different companies.

It is also home to Cadbury’s Chocolate so for those of you with a sweet tooth then this city will not disappoint as you can get a tour around the building with lots of freebies.

Getting Around:

The city is located over a large area and transport around does need to be thought about. Birmingham is not the best area for bikes. There is a one-way street system that is designed specifically to increase road rage. The city is well serviced by public transport including trams, buses and trains.

Must See/Must do:

  • Spend up at the Bullring

  • Indulge in freebies and cheapies at Cadbury

  • World Dance till dawn on Broad Street

  • Try the Balti Triangle for Birmingham's Favourite Curry

  • Shop in the Jewellery Quarter

  • Cruise the Canals on a boat tour

Shop and party at the Custard Factory NEC Birmingham

History and Culture:

Since the 1990s the city has been handed over and much of the 'less interesting' architecture has been replaced by more pleasing versions. The Selfridge's at Bullring ' which use to be an eyesore ' is probably the best example of the new face of the city as it settles in the 21st Century. This city features a wide abundance of museums and art galleries including the Barber's Institute collection of French Impressionists.

Birmingham is also home to a Royal Ballet company which tours around the country performing traditional, classical and heritage ballets as well as their very own works that they have produced themselves.

Nightlife:

Birmingham certainly doesn't disappoint when it comes to its night-life and has an excellent club scene. Clubs like Gatecrasher, Risa and Oceana are popular with large crowds and stag parties. Dress codes are very strict in these places. Other places include Digbeth for Irish pubs. Club Ramshackle is held at 2000+ capacity Carling Academy, Dale End.

Arcadian - Get the stag party started at the 'Arcadian Centre' with a drink at hip venues like the Sobar or Arca.

Brindley Place - Tree lined squares and canal side draw stag party groups to the stylish bars of Brindley Place. A visit to 'Cielo' is a must which overlooks Oozell's Square.

The Mailbox - 'The Mailbox' is a hub of sparkling night-life. Relax with music and drinks at 'Bar Room Bar' or 'Pennyblack'. Why not head down to Malmaison which is a champagne bar and have a glass of Fizz.

Jump from one bar to the next on 'Broad Street' which acts as a stable for party goers from Birmingham and beyond. Walk into the Australian bar 'Walkabout' for the best food and drink this side of the big red rock.

A vibrant mix of bars and pubs, from pre ' clubbing hot spots to student nights and cocktail bars has got it all for your stag party weekend.

Stag Party Weekend Activities:

4x4 Off Road Racing - A powerful off road vehicle arrive at the activity centre, get kitted up, run through safety procedures and hit the road or should we say dirt?

Archery Experience - You should try your hand at archery. You don't have to be Robin Hood to try this activity, you just need a steady hand and a good eye along with a bow and arrow.

Bubble Football - Bubble Football is half zorbing, half football. Your top half is closed in large bubble. Quite possibly one of the fun ways to spend an hour with the ladies.

Clay Pigeon Shooting - Take aim and try to smash the clay to smithereens.

Half Day Paintballing Experience - Paintballing is lots of fun, even more so when you're got half a day with which to fire balls of paint at one another.

Round of Golf - This 18-hole golf course is the one for you if you're a golfing mad stag group. If you fancy a round or two on your stag weekend.

Food and Drink

Whether it’s Michelin starred restaurant’s, pub grub, pizza or Mexican, Birmingham has something that will be to your liking and something that will suit everyone’s budget. Some of the very best spots to get a bite to eat include:
