Letterkenny is known for its vibrant nightlife boasting a host of restaurants, pubs & nightclubs and is one of the main locations in Ireland for a stag night. Some people say the only thing Letterkenny does not provide is a hangover cure!


Culture:


The geographical location of Letterkenny makes it an ideal place to explore Donegal & north-west Ireland. If you're interested in the heritage of the area then places like The Colmslie Heritage Centre, Glenveagh National Park, Glebe House & Gallery & Donegal Castle are a must for visitors. If you're a bit more adventurous & want to blow away the cobwebs after a night on the beer then a walk up Mount Errigal could be just the ticket, also within a 30 min drive are tennis, horse riding & numerous other adventure sports facilities. Also available but not quite as strenuous is a round of golf at one of the many famous Donegal golf courses like Glashedy Links, Portsalon Golflinks or Barnhill golf course, a fine parkland course.

Letterkenny is an ideal destination for a stag party as it is renowned for its nightlife while also being surrounded by some stunning landscape, so what better than to enjoy a few drinks & recover the following day with a hill walk or a swim/ surf at one of the famous Donegal blue flag beaches located 20mins away.


Travel Information:


Letterkenny is easily accessible from the entire island of Ireland, It is 2 hours drive from Belfast, 3 hours from both Dublin & Galway & 5 hours from Cork. The closest airport to Letterkenny is City of Derry airport located 25 miles away. stag ideas: While most stag parties tend to revolve around having the craic in the pubs at night here's a few ideas of other activities to be tried during the day. Go Karting is a very popular group activity & really gets the competitive spirit going. An afternoon paintballing is another great idea & it gives you the chance to show your friends who's boss! The Cavern Bar - One of the liveliest spots in Letterkenny and a must if you need to catch a sporting event on television.


The Voodoo Bar - Highly recommended if you're into live music, Regular piano music & bands play here.


Dillon's Bar (Letterkenny Court Hotel) - Plenty of stag parties here at the weekend.


Mc Ginleys Bar - Enjoy live music every night in front of an open turf fire, busy at weekends


The Voodoo Club - Warm up in the disco bar from 9.30pm & then join the big name DJ's in the modern nightclub Milan Nightclub: This is another disco in the centre of the town open till late!


The Golden Grill - Known all over Ireland this is one of the oldest nightclubs in Letterkenny open till 3am, this place also includes 'Oceans' a gentleman's casino.

There's plenty of dining options available for all budgets in Letterkenny;


if you're looking for a good carvery or simple pub grub then The Voodoo & The Old Orchard Inn are the places for you.


if you're looking for something more upmarket then there restaurants like Blacks Steakhouse which is located outside of the town but is known as one of the top restaurants in the region, Tin Tai Chinese restaurant located near the Ramada Hotel is a great place for asian cuisine, The Lemon Tree & The Yellow Pepper both located on main street serve mains for around 15-20 euro."
