Athlone History in Brief:
Athlone (in Irish AthLuain or the ford of Luan) is a town steeped in history. From the tradition arised, the Bridge of Athlone was the main crossing point between east and west and is being overlooked by the Athlone Castle. Athlone today reflects almost a thousand years in growth. The castle still stands guarding the crossing point of the Shannon, as it has done now for 800 years, However, today it is a tourist attraction and popular with stag parties.

The festival involves Street Theatre, art exhibitions, workshops and events for young people. Athlone Literary festival is an annual event which began in 1999, originally as a weekend celebration of the life and works of John Broderick which features a great variety of speakers and debaters.

You have to throw balls in order to hit the players on the other team, you can catch balls before they hit the ground and also dodge balls that are threw at you. The team to hit all the players on the other team are the winners.
Go Karting - Fancy yourself as a race driver. Then here's your chance to impress your friends with your Michael Schumacher skills as you screech around each bend at speech up to 60km/hr. Weave in and out of your components to take the overall winning price. Purely a stag event you will be guaranteed a good time.
Clay Shooting - Clay Pigeon shooting is a truly unique experience that very few get to taste. You'll be equipped with a 12 gauge shot gun and you will all be given a chance to show off your shooting skills at different targets. This is truly a fun experience for any stag party.
