The Lennart Meri Tallinn International Airport is less than 3 miles from the city centre and it is served by airlines and locations all over Europe including budget airlines like EasyJet and Ryanair who can fly you there from the British Isles for less than 150 Euros. Taxis here are very reasonable so getting to your hotel will be a piece of cake.

History:

Tallinn was first charted by a cartographer as early as 1154 and we know the Danes became early holders of the town not long after this. The Brotherhood of the Swords, an enigmatic order took over soon afterwards and invited German merchants who laid roots and for the next couple of hundred years it was German dominated. In the 16th century, it became, like the rest of Estonia, a major battleground for control of the Baltic Sea. Swedes, Russians, Germans and Danes are among those who fought for control of Tallinn and after its great fire of 1684 and its earlier plague epidemic the town had to rebuild itself. WWII brought clashes and devastation between Russian and Nazi forces. Russia kept it as a Soviet State until the fall of the union and today its economy is getting stronger and stronger.

Tallinn's food and restaurant scene is one that is all the time getting better and better and it has become a place guaranteed to soothe the hungers of even the pickiest among you stags.
