Brno Stag Do, Party & Weekend Activities

Brno Stag Weekend
I'm sure anybody who was in Prague twenty years ago & has been back recently will agree that it is overrun with stag weekends, not a bad thing you...
ht say but unfortunately with this you can expect to be paying over the odds for your entertainment. We recommend Brno for those who want an experience of what Prague used be great for. You won't be getting bowled over by fifty other stag parties & you won't be getting hassled by those annoying nightclub touts badgering you to go to their club. Brno has a student atmosphere, the nightlife is wild but at the same time it has that small town feeling & everything is done in good faith so unless you burn the city down you'll be made feel welcome.
Culture:
Brno is a city of 400,000 people of which there are 7000 students. Located in what used be the historic country of Moravia it has an urban characteristics but there is still a great feel of Moravian folklore around Brno. There are countless historical sites in Brno & perhaps the most famous bring Villa Tugendhat which is a designated world heritage site by UNESCO & is an early example of modern architecture in Europe.
Stag Ideas:
While not hitting any extremes the weather in Brno can dictate what's comfortable to do during the day, Between December & March you'll be looking at temperatures below zero & from June to August can expect about 20 degrees so we'd recommend some indoor activities for those cold winter days & what better to do than a Brewery Tour! During the summer there are plenty of outdoor activities like shooting or if you're into motorsports then try some karting or quad biking.
Nightlife:
There's no other way to put this, the nightlife in Brno revolves around drinking! 'Starobrno' is the locally brewed tipple that you'll see the majority of people downing a pint of so you may as well join them, Brewing beer is a point of pride for the Czech's so you won't be disappointed. If quality beer just isn't enough there's a local spirit called 'Slivovice' which is distilled from plums & is sure to have you or maybe just the stag on the floor in no time.
One of the best places to go out in Brno is Bar Ktery Neexistuje located on Dvorakova 1. Friendly staff, good music & all the drink you want is what awaits you here. Freedom square is another place where you'll find lots of pubs & clubs where you can party with the students. One of the great things about Brno compared to Prague is the value you can expect to pay very low prices with often you'll get food & a few beers for under a fiver.
Places to Eat:
While Czech cuisine is not world renowned the same way Indian or Thai food is, it'll certainly be able to do the job for a few days, A typical meal in Brno will consist of some soup to start (chicken, potato, garlic) main course of beef or pork with some sauerkraut, you'll also come across some sort of cabbage dish which is worth a try, but don't panic you'll be familiar with the potato! Most pubs in Brno will serve some form of food as described above & you'll also find more familiar pizza & burger joints around town.
Travel info:
You can reach Brno directly from the UK by flying from London Standsted of alternatively by flying to Prague of Vienna & taking the train. Once there you'll be able to take busses & trams to wherever you need to get to. For those less adventurous taxis are available all over town.
