Oxford is located on the M40 approximately 50miles from London, Its narrow streets can be quite frustrating so best leaving the car back at your hotel & explore this historic town on foot, alternatively cycling is a good way of getting around but make sure it's before you've been to the pub! If you are not coming by car the closest airport is London Heathrow and there is a train the best way to get here from anywhere in the UK.

Get an insight into the life of a student by taking a look at a few of the 38 colleges which make up the University of Oxford. Also there are guided tours of the narrow winding streets that make up this historic city. There's a big covered market where some great bargains are to be found, You can leave Oxford without visiting the University shop & also why not try G&D's ice-cream, the perfect thing to sooth a hangover.

Also with good reason when people hear of Oxford they automatically think about the University, after all it is the lifeblood of the city. With a history of churning out great academics like JRR Tolkien, Tony Blair & David Cameron to name but a few and with the stunning architecture of the 38 colleges this 12 century city is a superb place to visit, Don't let the academic side fool you, these students definitely know how to party as well! Something else that could be incorporated into a hen weekend might be a sporting event between Oxford and also Cambridge, These two rivals square off in different sports through the year with the famous meetings being the boat race & the rugby played at Twickenham.
