Newquay is famous around the UK for its wealth of pristine golden sandy beaches. There are a multitude of events and activities taking place on many of these waterfronts as people from all over southern England come here to surf (or watch international class surfers), to fish, to boat and to sunbathe and a whole lot more. A must see for visitors to town is a trip on 'Muffin' or 'Zebedee’, two of the steam locomotives on the Lappa Valley Steam Railway. This is one of Cornwall's oldest railways at over 160 years old. Travel info Newquay is easily accessible by air, rail or road. The Newquay Cornwall Airport, just outside town serves London daily with Flybe as well as other cities all over the UK. Lufthansa flies here twice a week from Dusseldorf. By Rail, Plymouth is 90 minutes away, Bristol is just over 4 hours and London is just over 5 hours away. These journey times are even shorter if you drive and the town is well placed on the road network.
