By air-Robin Hood Doncaster Sheffield is a new modern airport just outside the city which serves many UK and some European cities. Buses into the City centre take 35 minutes. By Train it is very accessible with Manchester, Leeds and Nottingham each within an hour of Sheffield. If you're driving, the M1 runs right through Sheffield and makes Leeds and Nottingham within easy reach. Manchester is only 40 miles away with a delightfully rustic drive across the peak district.

This is the perfect setting for your hen night party. History--Sheffield gets its name from the river Sheaf and an old English word 'field' which meant open land without trees. It was founded by a lord in the 12th century and by the 14th Century it had become known for making cutlery. It continued to grow throughout the centuries and was a large place before the 1832 Cholera epidemic which killed 402 people. There is a monument to this in the city today. The city was also subjected to German bombing campaigns in both the World Wars.
