st stylish cities in Europe, the architecture is stunning as are the locals so make sure you pay a visit to one of the many beaches. Valencia is the 3rd biggest city in Spain with a population of 800,000 people, a lot of whom can speak a bit of English so there won't be any language barrier to hinder your experience.

Culture:

There's a couple of festivals held in Valencia each year which are great fun if the timing suits your plans, firstly in March is Las Fallas which is a five day party that's totally nuts, there's fireworks & bangers going off all the time & all the restaurants & bars flow out onto the street, then in August is La Tomatina which is held in the nearby town of Bunol & is a big tomato fight! Valencia is also famous for its food, typically paella which is a rice dish simmered with seafood or meat.

Travel Info:

Valencia airport is located 9km outside the city & is serviced by some of the main low-cost airlines, alternatively it can be reached by train from Madrid or Barcelona easily. Once there Valencia is a dream to get around, its fairly well compacted so walking around is easy but there's a bike sharing scheme if you fancy going on a bike tour. There's an excellent bus system for getting around the city too & a metro which is less useful for city travel but will get you to the beach which is a must.

Hen Ideas:

There are all the usual hen party activities like paintballing & karting available in Valencia but if the weather is good (which its almost guaranteed to be) then why not get to the beach & get involved is some activities there line a boat trip or for more adventurous maybe some scuba diving, a small warning though! You'll need to be fresh for this, it's not really something to do after a night on the beer. Alternatively you can just enjoy the sun & have a few drinks on the beach & watch the beautiful people wander by.

Nightlife:

The Valencian people really know how to party! From Friday night till Sunday morning its pure carnage, these bars don't close early! Don't be surprised to find it still going strong into the early morning. Barrio Del Carmen which is basically the old town is one of the liveliest areas to go out in particularly around Calle Caballeros. If you're looking to avoid the tourists then there are a few cool bars at Plaza Canovas that the locals prefer.

During the summer months a lot of outdoor bars pop up near Las Arenas & the Malvarrosa beaches. Caf' Negrito located at Plaza del Negrito 1 is a great place to start the evening with a few cheap beers & Las Animas Caf' Bar located at Calle Pizarro 31 is another good spot with a mix of music playing .

Food/ Restaurants:

You may think eating rice every day would get boring but in Valencia where paella is king you'll never taste the same thing twice, being on the coast of the med the seafood is unbelievably fresh so it's no wonder that this city is so well renowned for its fine cuisine.

While not native to the city there are also a number of fine tapas bars around town which are a great way to keep your stomach lined if you're on a bar crawl as most hen parties do. La Pepica located at Paseo de Neptuno 2-8, Playa de la Malvarosa is a famous restaurant near the beach, it's been in business for over a hundred years & is a must for lunch some day.
