Availability
Rafting starts in early spring and runs throughout the summer and on into late autumn. The main rafting seasons are usually between spring and autumn when the white water is at its peak. Summer weekend dates always fill quickly - book six to eight weeks in advance.
Participant Guidelines
Scotland: The Minimum age begins at 10, non-swimmers welcome. Wales: The minimum age begins at 12, maximum chest girth 49'', and you must be a confident swimmer. For safety reasons, the venues reserve the right to test your fitness. Please advise us beforehand of any disabilities.
Weather
Rafting will go ahead in most conditions but may be affected by extreme weather conditions or flooding if the rivers are too swollen.
Duration
Your session will last for approximately two hours. Allow some time afterwards to shower and change.
Numbers On Day
The maximum group size is seven in Wales and eight in Scotland. You'll must have a minimum of six people on board to balance the raft. An experienced instructor will be in the raft along with you at all times.
Spectators
Spectators are always more than welcome. They'll be able to some varying amounts of the experience, depending on the location.
Dress Code
Bring swimwear, a towel, a pair of old trainers, a dry change of clothes and a wetsuit if you have one. Buoyancy aids and helmets will be provided on site. If you wear glasses on a regular basis, remove them or firmly secure them.
Other Info
You WILL get soaked, but there are hot showers at both venues. You might be expected to jump out of the raft into still waters as part of your training.
