Availability
Sessions run once a month on either a Saturday and Sunday most months between March and September (not April). Please note that you must book a few weeks in advance.
Participant Guidelines
Minimum age limitation is 14. All participants must be quite fit and confident when in water. Ability to swim is not necessarily required as life jackets are provided. You must sign a medical form before you get out kayaking and must be signed by a parent/guardian if under 18.
Weather
Kayaking will normally go ahead as planned in almost any condition. The office will ring you if your session is called off.
Duration
A normal session normally lasts roughly 3 hours from your introduction to the end of the kayaking. To get a speedy start to your day we advise you arrive around 15 mins before you are due to start and also give yourself time at the centre to shower and change after your session.
Numbers On Day
You will be in your own kayak.
Spectators
Spectators are more than welcome at our site and they can even hire boats to go out to the river. They are solely responsible for their own safety at all times. There are toilet facilities available at the site and a restaurant is overlooking the river.
Dress Code
You need a swimming outfit, old trainers, towel, long-sleeved top and tracksuit as there is a good chance they will get wet. A life jacket and waterproof top are supplied. If you have to wear glasses just be sure to either take them of before hand or safely secure them as they may fall off.
Other Info
As you are most likely to get wet, hot shower facilities are provided on site, so we highly advise that you bring a change of clothes and your shower wash.
