Availability
Sessions run on Saturdays and Sundays from June and some weekdays are also available during school holidays. Please note that our venue requires booking requests be made with several weeks advance notice.
Participant Guidelines
Minimum age is 8 and maximum is 13. Those aged 14 or over are eligible for adult kayaking (see experience code LBCKB).
Weather
Kayaking will go ahead in most conditions. For your own personal safety, very rarely flood conditions may lead to postponement off activity - the venue will contact you if ever a session is postponed.
Duration
Sessions last for three hours including a toilet and refreshment break (soft drink or ice cream). To ensure a prompt start, please arrive a at least half an hour in advance of your start time and allow yourself time at the centre afterwards to shower and change.
Spectators
Spectators are welcome and can hire boats in the main season to go out on the river. Safety remains their own personal responsibility at all times. Cover and toilet facilities are available throughout the site and a restaurant is located in the park overlooking the river.
Dress Code
You need swimwear, towel, pair of old trainers, tracksuit and long-sleeved top (they will get wet). A buoyancy aid and cagoule (waterproof top) each are provided on site when you arrive. If you wear glasses, either remove them completely or firmly secure them. Contact lenses may be worn if it makes you comfortable.
Other Info
You WILL get wet! There are hot shower facilities so please bring a change of clothes and some showering supplies. The venue is a nationally rated by the BCU (British Canoe Union) training centre for children, licenced by the Adventure Activity Licensing Authority.
