Enjoy an amazing day of fishing in one of the most gorgeous rural areas of England. Head straight out onto the water with an experienced boatman and discover fly fishing you will learn all about fishing tackle, what flies are used for what and how to cast a line. Then put all you learned into practise by trying to catch some trout from the boat . The rules allow fishers to take a maximum of two fish home. The award-winning Rutland Water has roughly around 26 miles of shoreline which covers 3,500 acres and is Europe's best and largest trout fishing lake, although the trout are not easy to catch they are still some of the best quality fish in world class.
Availability
Around two dates per month from April to November, when the fishing is at its best.
Participant Guidelines
Minimum age is 12 and anyone under 18 must be accompanied by a participating adult (aged 18 or over).
Weather
Fishing will go ahead in most weather although boats cannot go out in high winds (over 23mph) and in that instance Rutland Fly Fishing Adventures will arrange a rebooking.
Duration
Lasts for up to four hours.
Numbers On Day
Share your experience with one other participant as each boat for the afternoon will contain two budding fly fisherman and an expert boatman.
Dress Code
Please dress according to the weather forecast, i.e. waterproofs, jacket, hat, sunglasses and/or sun block in summer. A life-jacket. is provided on site.
