Clay pigeon shooting is an exhilarating and a great opportunity to improve your aim and acquire a new skill. This is an experience with a slight difference, with some parts taking place in a classroom and the rest practical learning. At the end of the experience you'll receive a certificate from The Clay Pigeon Shooting Association in recognition of completion of the Shotgun Skills Course. The class goes over the workings of the modern shotgun, shotgun safety, how to apply for a licence and the practical skills needed to hit and break simple targets accurately. Great for clay pigeon shooting beginners or those who are new to the sport, so go off with a bang.
Availability
Takes place one Wednesday and one Saturday each month throughout the year. Booking a day is always subject to availability.
Participant Guidelines
The minimum age begins at 12. Anyone 16 or under must be accompanied by a adult. The venue has wheelchair access, disabled participants are more than welcome (please advise details at the point of booking).
Weather
The experience will run in almost any weather conditions. You can always call ahead if you have any concerns on the day.
Duration
Lasts for three hours but please allow an additional fifteen minutes for gun fitting and briefing. You are always welcome to stay on-site for the remainder of the day to watch others.
Numbers On Day
Shooting takes place in groups of six (maximum two groups).
Spectators
There are safe areas for spectators who are also welcome in the clubhouse and adjoining patio. Pets are not permitted on-site for safety reasons.
Dress Code
Please dress with the vagaries of the British weather in mind for this outdoor experience. We also recommend warm layers in which you can move freely.
Other Info
This shooting club is a member of the BASC (British Association for Shooting and Conservation) and the CPSA (Clay Pigeon Shooting Association) which grades the venue as premier plus.
