Availability
Long weekends approximately once every four to six weeks between March and October. This is a very popular experience so we recommend booking at least six to eight weeks in advance (even earlier for summer weekends).
Participant Guidelines
Max weight 15 stone. Minimum age is eight (if under 16 must be accompanied by a paying adult). Participants must be able to walk 50 metres unaided with strength to open/close a car door and anyone with health concerns must have written clearance to fly.
Weather
Flying is a weather dependent activity and you will be contacted three days before the event to confirm whether the flying will go ahead. If the flight is cancelled due to weather, it will be re-booked for another date.
Duration
Lasts for up to three hours including one hour flying time in the helicopter, at least 30 minutes of which will be spent in the company of the Spitfire.
Numbers On Day
The briefing might be shared with up to ten other people. Two helicopters fly in each flight, and they accommodate between three and five passengers each, depending on demand.
Spectators
Up to three spectators are welcome to come along the airfield (more on request). There is plenty for them to see with public viewing galleries both inside and out for photo opportunities. They can also make use of the on-site bar and restaurant.
Dress Code
Smart casual, practical for flying. Footwear suitable for walking in grass. To add to the fun, visitors may dress in 1940s themed attire if preferred - either civil or military. Period vehicles are also very welcome!
Other Info
There is free parking on site.
