Availability
Many venues operate seven days a week all year round. Please take note that weekends are extremely busy - please book several weeks in advance. During winter, flights are usually run earlier in the day, during daylight hours.
Participant Guidelines
Restrictions vary according to venue. As a guide, the minimum age varies from 14 to 18, minimum height 4', maximum 6' to 6'6'' and maximum weight 14 to 18 stone. Some of the venues will ask for name and address/photo id on the day for security reasons.
Weather
Flying is a weather dependent activity and it's essential to call the venue for a weather check before setting out. If the flight is called off because of the weather, it will be re-booked for an alternative date or time.
Duration
The experience will last for about 40 minutes, including a 30 minute flight. Flight times are very approximate and are the chocks-off to chocks-on duration.
Numbers On Day
The briefing may be shared. The flight will be held on a strict one-to-one basis with your instructor.
Spectators
Spectators are always more welcome to watch take off and land.
Dress Code
please be sure to wear sensible flat-soled shoes. please bring some sunblock and a hat in summer. Sunglasses are highly recommended all year round.
Other Info
Flying time can count towards a Private Pilot's Licence (PPL). To qualify for the PPL 35 hours of dual-control and 10 hours solo flying are required. This is a great way to get started as a pilot.
