Why not learn all about Britain's top predators with this excellent experience in falconry in Billericay. This amazing experience starts off with a tour of the bird of prey centre and an opportunity to get close to different breeds. You will then be taught about various birds of prey and what makes each species different from one another. You will then get introduced to a bird and start handling it to get accustomed to it, under the tutelage of an expert hawk handler. This experience allows you to the chance to become a falconer and fly a bird to the fist and watch as it rips through the sky at speed with pure ease. Fly the bird right to the glove and appreciate the raw strength of these amazing animals.
Availability
Days available will depend upon choice of venue, please check before booking. Due to an increase in popularity for this experience we highly recommend that you book a few weeks in advance, and even sooner when coming up to summer.
Participant Guidelines
Minimum age varies from 11 to 16 (depending on venue).
Weather
As this take place mostly outdoors the weather is a major factor. If this is the case we advise all participants to call our office to check if the experience is still going ahead as planned or has been called off. If the experience is called off we will rebook for a different time and date.
Duration
The experience will last for approximately three hours.
Numbers On Day
Held in groups of between four and ten people. But will go up as the general public will be in some places the experience takes place
Spectators
Not all places can allow spectators, and any place that allows spectators may charge a fee for visiting or spectating, so please mention this when calling to book the experience
Dress Code
Dress warm for the outdoors as it can get cold on some occasions. We advise that you bring extra clothes in the off chance that the weather gets bad.
Other Info
Dogs are not allowed at all at any falconry places. The species of bird you encounter will be different depending on the place you visit.
